Naughty Dog’s Amy Hennig Leaves Studio After 10 Years – UPDATE

by

UPDATE: As I stated in the original story, the claims of Hennig being “forced out” by Druckmann and Straley should not have been taken as the truth; and it turns out it wasn’t the truth at all. Regarding that portion of the story, Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra cleared the air about that portion of the reports:

Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were NOT involved in what transpired.  It was very upsetting to us that dozens of stories were run, linking back to the same hurtful accusations in the original report.

You can read the statement in full here.

Rumors had been circulating that Amy Hennig, director and writer for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, had left the studio; it has officially been confirmed by Sony that March 3 was her last day with Naughty Dog.

It was claimed that she was “forced out” by The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley, and that the Uncharted series may now be under their control following her departure. There is no confirmation as of yet how true the aforementioned is, however. Sony has stated that the development of the PS4 entry of Uncharted will not be impacted by her departure.
