The Console Wars Continue, New Game Reveals Imminent

Tomorrow will be a busy day for any Xbox fans. Not only is the Xbox reveal tomorrow, but Call of Duty: Ghosts will be shown at the event, as will the next-generation version of FIFA. EA confirmed this through Facebook saying on their page “see the next-generation of FIFA”, afterwards using the event’s official hashtag, #XboxReveal. This new FIFA will most definitely be FIFA 14. The game will likely build on features from previous games, mainly the Player Impact Engine which caused problems in both FIFA 12 and FIFA 13 as it was riddled with glitches.

After McLaren Automotive wrote on their official Facebook page that: “Xbox is revealing something special. We think you might like what they’re announcing,” rumours once again began to spread of the new Forza. Although, Forza Motorsport 5 has not yet been confirmed for a reveal alongside the Xbox, rumours suggest that it may be a secretive project. Sadly, it won’t be too secretive as everyone is expecting to see a glimpse of Forza Motorsport 5 tomorrow.

Speaking of glimpses, a teaser trailer for the Playstation 4 has been released by Sony. The blurry trailer shows flashes of the console showing that the console we definitely be sticking to the well known black casing. The glimpses seem to show many vents, although nothing is incredibly clear. At the end of the trailer, the date June 10th 2013 and time of 6:00 PM PDT is given. This confirms what we all expected, that the Playstation 4 will be flaunted at Playstation’s E3 Press Conference. Until then, expect little more information about the console.

Attempting to keep up with Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo has confirmed that Mario, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. titles will be shown on a Nintendo Direct before E3. This news filtered from Nintendo of America’s Twitter saying “We will discuss new Smash Bros., 3D Mario game, Mario Kart and other Wii U titles in our #NintendoDirectNA before the start of E3”. Although these games have been clarified before, we now know to expect gameplay and release dates before E3.
