Is Feudal Japan The Next Setting For Assassin’s Creed?

by

It’s no secret that the Assassin’s Creed franchise loves to dive into the past to center a game around a specific time period. Considering there is such a vast history in the world at this point, the setting for the next entry can be whatever they choose and there’s no specific way to pinpoint what it might be. Honestly, how many of you correctly guessed that AC4 was going to be centered around the pirates who sailed the Caribbean?

In an interview with VG247, Jean Guesdon said that having feudal Japan be a setting for isn’t out of the question. You might wonder to yourself how this could be significant to the possible setting to the next Assassin’s Creed game. It’s a possibility just like how they could make a game saying that the assassin’s secretly helped Abraham Lincoln abolish slavery, or how assassin’s could have secretly ended the cold war. The possibilities are endless but if this was the first thing that came to his mind, chances are that they might have been discussing this for some time.

Considering the development of these games begin a few years in advance, there’s a possibility that a game set in feudal Japan is already underway. However, take this with a grain of salt. It’s simply a rumor right now and we should all treat it as such.
