‘Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ Speed Runner Achieves New Record

by

Ever since Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes released, speed runners have been endlessly playing through the game, including the five additional side ops, trying to complete each mission as quickly as humanly possible. YouTuber DannyRodriguezFilms has accomplished a new world record within the game by completing the “Renegade Threat” side-op in just 1 minute and 27 seconds. The impressive run through of the mission sees Rodriguez execute the two targets within a matter of seconds, and escape Camp Omega without triggering a combat alert. You can view his accomplishment in all its glory below.

When news broke that the main mission in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes could be completed in less than 2 hours, including cut scenes and closing credits, there was an uproar from the gaming community reasoning that a game so short should not cost $30. Does that fact that this mission can be beaten in less that 2 minutes add fuel to the fire that Ground Zeroes isn’t worth the cost? Or should this just be taken for what it is: an impressive feat of gaming talent?
