I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Don’t count the Wii U out of the next gen console wars.  Other than providing similar entertainment services as the other two next generation consoles, Wii U is also in the 1080p, 60fps crowd with Xbox One and PS4.  Along with these Nintendo has one more thing to boast about:  their partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line.

Announced today, Nintendo of America is continuing their partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line.  Fleet wide, the cruise line incorporated the Nintendo Wii back when their partnership starting in March of 2007.  Now, that partnership has expanding into the era of the Wii U.  Norwegian Cruise Line announced they will have a Wii U console fleet wide.  The goal is to provide gaming opportunities to patrons of all ages.  With Wind Waker, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, and Wonderful 101 (among others) the cruise line hopes to provide guests with a variety of gaming entertainment.

“The Wii consoles have always been extremely popular among out guests,” says Richard Ambrose, Norwegian Cruise Line’s vice president of entertainment.  “The new Wii U systems are guaranteed to take gaming on board to the next level, and will surely be a hit.”  Norwegian Cruise Line hopes to get the party started by hosting on-board gaming on the next generation Wii U console.
