PS Vita Welcome Box Announced

Everything the budding Vita player could possibly want

Sony recently announced a new PS Vita bundle, aptly dubbed the Welcome Box. Retailing for Â¥20,454 (which is approximately $195 US), the Welcome Box packages together everything a new Vita owner needs to get started, including a wi-fi PlayStation Vita, 8GB memory card, USB cable, power cord, charger, strap, protective pouch, cleaning cloth, Music Unlimited voucher, Joysound. TV Plus, Dragon’s Dogma Quest, Power Pro Stadium, God Eater 2 demo, Soul Sacrifice Delta demo and Terraria demo.

Phew! Considering that the wi-fi Vita retails for ¥18,995 (around $180 US) on its own in Japan, there’s a generous saving to be had there. The PlayStation Vita Welcome Box will be available in Japan on 6th March 2014. Unfortunately there’s no word yet on a Western release; however, Sony has been churning out various Vita bundles over the past year in an effort to garner more interest in its struggling handheld.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any further developments regarding a Western release for the Welcome Box as and when they arise.
