Vita TV Might Be Headed West Once Gaikai Releases In 2014

by

Andrew House stated that the reasoning behind Vita TV being released in Japan first is due to streaming still being in its infancy there and they wanted to “establish a market” for it. While streaming is nothing new to us in the West and Europe, the goal is to use the hardware to possibly have it become more popular.

Unfortunately, there are some problems with some Vita games being streamed with the hardware. Games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss aren’t playable using Vita TV due to the touch screen controls. Games will hopefully add Vita TV compatibility and it will have a greater use in the future. Once Gaikai releases here in the West in 2014, the Vita TV will most likely soon follow.
