Runescape Coming to Tablets and Other News

With Runescape 3 announced earlier last week, Jagex have also stated that they are intending to bring Runescape to both tablets and consoles. CEO Mark Gerhard has revealed Jagex have started working on a tablet version of Runescape 3 already. Although the company hasn’t started work on a version for consoles, Gerhard suggested that Runescape could one day arrive on consoles if “console manufacturers play nice with each other”.

EA and FIFA have extended their licensing contract until 2022, meaning FIFA will be around for a long time to come. This news comes after EA announced 14.5 million copies of FIFA 13 have been sold to date, an increase this time last year from FIFA 12.  With the continuing success of the series and the growth in popularity in the past two years, the new contract was no surprise.

Although EA only acquired the license to Star Wars video games, EA executive chairman Larry Probst stated no Star Wars games are planned for EA’s 2014 fiscal year.  This year runs from April 1st 2013 to March 31st of 2014, meaning we won’t be seeing any Star Wars games before then.
